Custom Fit San Francisco

At Custom Fit in San Francisco, you do not need to buy a separate gym membership or pay an initiation fee to work with a personal trainer. You pay for your training sessions. Our coaching is built around your goals, experience, and schedule, with options for one-on-one or partner training.

That distinction makes it easier to understand what you are signing up for. “No membership fee to train” means there is no additional membership charge required for your coached sessions. It does not mean personal training is free or that every service is included with any appointment.

What does personal training at Custom Fit include?

Personal training starts with a conversation about what you want to work toward. Our intake form asks about your training goals, history, and preferences so the team can arrange a trainer pairing. Your initial sessions give you and your coach an opportunity to discuss your starting point, assess movement, and establish a plan.

Training can be adapted for beginners, people returning after a break, and experienced clients. The purpose of individual coaching is to make the sessions relevant to you: the exercises you practice, the guidance you receive, and the adjustments you discuss with your trainer.

Our personal training page lists sessions starting at $135. The rate for your selected package and the booking arrangements are confirmed when you sign up.

A defined starting point: the $295 New Client Special

The New Client Training Special brings together coaching, body-composition testing, and a nutrition conversation. It includes:

  • Two personal training sessions.
  • One DEXA body-composition scan.
  • A nutrition consultation with a Registered Dietitian.

The offer is $295. DEXA appointments take place at 323 Octavia Street in Hayes Valley. Your training and nutrition appointments are coordinated separately, so confirm the location of each booking.

DEXA scans at Custom Fit are performed and analyzed by a Registered Dietitian or Exercise Physiologist. The scan gives the team body-composition information to discuss alongside your goals; it is not a requirement to arrive with a particular fitness level.

How do testing and recovery fit into a training package?

Custom Fit's personal training packages include access to DEXA scans, VO₂ max testing, the Recovery Room, and group classes under the applicable training benefits. Ask the team to explain the benefits attached to your package and how to book them. Service locations and appointment availability still apply.

You can also explore nutrition coaching with a Registered Dietitian. A short introductory consultation and an ongoing nutrition program are different services; the team can explain which is appropriate for the support you want.

Prefer to train with someone you know?

Partner training offers shared sessions with coaching for two people. You can discuss your individual goals with the team before deciding whether that format or one-on-one training is a better fit. Neither format requires a separate gym membership or initiation fee to attend your training sessions.

Questions about getting started

Do I need a gym membership before booking a trainer?

No. Custom Fit personal training does not require a separate gym membership or initiation fee. Independent gym access is a different offering.

Can I begin if I have not exercised recently?

Yes. Custom Fit works with beginners and people returning to training. Share your experience, current limitations, and goals in the intake form so the team can discuss a suitable starting point.
